Company History
A team of successful people, most of whom had achieved high ranking in the field of upscale cosmetics as sold to high-end retailers gathered to hear Judy Niedermaier’s plan about bringing vitamin based skincare products to the cosmetic department of either Neiman Marcus or a Saks Fifth Avenue. We would create a new category within the cosmetic department that traditionally consisted of colour, treatment and fragrance. We would make this new category called “wellness” glamourous.
In selecting the name, “American Vitamin” and simple product names for each item, we introduced a brand that was straightforward, but with international appeal. The result was a brand with excellent products and a philosophy that stands for wellness. You can not look good if you do not feel good. We have wonderful, intelligent upscale customers (both men and women 30 and older) at Saks Fifth Avenue stores where we have been building our brand for over fives years.
Vitamin Based Skincare & Pynogenol
The American Vitamin Company utilises Pycnogenol, a powerful antioxidant obtained from the French Maritime Pine Bark. Pycnogenol is approximately 20 times more potent than vitamin C and 50 times more potent than vitamin E. The properties of this unique substance are miraculous. When applied directly to the skin, Pycnogenol reduces swelling and redness. It promotes healing, builds collagen and helps prevent the visible signs of aging. Moreover, Pycnogenol softens moisturises and soothes the skin.
Barry Pava, the chemist who developed the products, has over 40 years experience with cosmetics and fragrances as a formulator and marketer. He has been associated with some of the best upscale brands in the USA. Barry has a BS Chemistry and has done graduate studes in Columbia. The products that he has and continues to develop for the American Vitamin Company are always easy to use and produce amazing results. Barry Pava is aware of the AVC customer and creates products that will greatly enhance the appearance of same.
